Mrs. Uisaina (We-sä-ina) Taufa’asau-Collins is a native of San Diego, California, having attended elementary and secondary school there, before moving to American Samoa and making it her home. She holds a Masters degree in Curriculum Studies from the University of Hawaii and is the proud daughter of Ivy Aiumu-Taufaasau and the late Patrick Taufaasau, both of whom hail from the village of Pago Pago. Uisaina is married to William Collins of Pago Pago, and together they have three children, Patrick, Luaipoumele, and Sansa, with one on the way next year.
She has worked in both the public and private sectors, at both elementary and secondary levels. She is the new Vice Principal at South Pacific Academy, and is an administrator by trade, but will always be an educator at heart. Mrs. Collins’ love for teaching stems from the great teachings she received during her time at Boys & Girls Club of American Samoa, and especially as a L-6 teacher at South Pacific International Christian Center School. She is confident that her time spent loving the children as Jesus did will ensure that they will love and care for her own children the same way.
