Natasha April Fa’alogo completed the Certificate 3 Community Services course and was awarded a Certificate in 2023 from the Australia Pacific Training Coalition in Samoa and graduated with a Diploma in Arts, studying Sociology and English in 2012 from the National University of Samoa. As an undergraduate, Fa’alogo had the opportunity to study abroad and attended Brigham Young University of Hawaii from 2016 to 2020 to further her education and pursue a career in Cultural Anthropology and Social Work, and is looking to continue with her education and graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in her chosen fields. While attending BYU-Hawaii, she served as a student officer managing career connect events, service projects and forums for student organizations she took part in. Furthermore, Fa’alogo was employed by the University as a part-time communication student assistant, where she worked with faculty members organizing career events and service projects to allow students to become responsible and productive citizens. Upon returning home to Samoa in 2021, Fa’alogo sought employment at the LDS Church College Pesega in Apia and was granted the opportunity to be a substitute teacher, teaching a variety of subjects and developing engaging lesson plans to improve student engagement. Moreover, Fa’alogo was employed by the Ministry of Women, Community, and Social Development as an Internal Affairs officer in 2022, serving and participating in various programs which contributed to her ongoing skills development and capacity building to better serve the public. Fa’alogo commenced her employment as a 2nd-grade Teacher’s aide at the South Pacific Academy in January 2024, teaching Arts and Physical Education. Fa’alogo aims to improve her students’ academic performance and instill in them an intrinsic motivation to learn. She is looking forward to this new school year teaching and learning from her students.
