Mr. Joaquin “Jake” Alamani

Joaquin “Jake” C. Alamani is a dedicated music choir teacher at South Pacific Academy located in the Tafuna district of American Samoa. Alamani completed a two-year program in Electronic Computer Technology, graduating first in his class and receiving the second in excellence award in 1993 at the Belta Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines. He also completed a one-year course in Basic and Advanced Radio at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 1990 and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Communication Engineering (undergraduate) at Saint Louis University in the Philippines in 1986.

For almost eight years, Alamani honed his talent in chorale singing with The Saint John Bosco (SJB) Parish chorale starting in 2000. His group became well-known in several local chorale festivals and competitions, winning multiple grand prize awards and participating in international concert tours. Alamani also served as a musical director at JCHSC Church for seven years and is currently the Music Ministry head and keyboard player at Christ In You (CIY) Church in American Samoa. He has composed and arranged six original Christian music songs and has been featured on the Christian Music TV and online program “Music of the Heart.”

Alamani has attended online classes on Rudiments of Music, Choral, and Conducting under the guidance of Professor Lester Delgado. He is very excited about the opportunity to impart his knowledge to the students of South Pacific Academy, aiming to inspire and guide them in their musical journey.
